A world of nature for hikes, mountain biking, swimming in freshwater lagoons, and cave exploration. Stretching 78 square kilometers, a handful of hiking trails take you through thick tropical forest along cacao and coffee trees, medicinal plants, and caves dating back millions of years. Along the way you’ll spot over 30 species of birds, lizards, and bats. There are bilingual guides at the entrance or you can sign up for an organized hike or biking tour with an adventure outfitter in town.
Whisk into the thrill of zip-lining above the jungle canopies on a 7-station course and free fall 60 feet down into an ancient cave. Take a walking tour through the old grotto-enclosed botanical garden. Already enamored with the charm of the squirrel monkeys posing for pictures on your shoulder, you’d be doubly pleased to know that the money you paid for this experience goes to a charity for vulnerable residents of the Sosua-Cabarete community.
There are many other attractions in the area, so we recommend visiting one of the Tour Companies in the area. Andy’s Tours is just 3 minutes from the Villa and Iguana Mama is located in the center of town, 7 minutes by foot!
